Highbury Fields students celebrate wonderful results today

Highbury Fields School community is this week celebrating the wonderful GCSE results of our Year 11 students.

Given these students have been the first since 2019 to sit examinations, they have faced considerable pressure and uncertainty. The unprecedented circumstances brought about by Covid-19 could, however, do nothing to deter our very special students from making every moment of their education matter.

Today’s results day is therefore a celebration, not just of academic success, but of the fortitude and d

etermination of every student, each of whom genuinely embodies the school’s values of community, tolerance and respect.

GCSE RESULTS 2022

The school is delighted with the quality of grades that our students have been awarded.

In year 11:

  • 11% were awarded the highest grade of a 9
  • 24% a grade 8 or above
  • 39% a grade 7 or above, compared to a national average of 26%
  • 53% a grade 6 or above
  • 72% a grade 5 or above
  • 82% of all GCSE results received a grade 4 or above, compared to a national average of 73%

Nearly a quarter of GCSE grades achieved a grade 8 or above

Students can now look forward to continuing their education in the sixth form.
