HOGA (Highbury Old Girls Association)
Highbury Old Girls Association (HOGA) is the oldest in London and currently has over 200 members.
It was formed so that girls leaving the school could keep in touch with friends (and often staff) who have made their schooldays so special.
We hold a very popular annual lunch, which offers a chance to reflect on memories of the past and to plan for the future of one of the most active alumni associations in London.
Last year’s lunch was held on Saturday 10th May in the school hall.
Our guest speaker was Highbury Old Girl and Chair of the Highbury Old Girls Association, Beverley Monk who attended Highbury Hill High School from 1951-1958.
Leaving school and completing her degree, Beverley became a primary school teacher and worked her way up to a headship.
Her talk on her life before, during and after Highbury was enlightening and entertaining.
It was lovely to hear about her chosen career path and how things in the education sector have changed over time.
HOGA finds that girls typically join around twenty years after leaving school, having begun their careers and raised families. We are keen to encourage younger members to give fresh eyes to the association and help it continue to thrive.
If you loved your schooldays come and join us!
You may keep up to date with HOGA by reading the newsletters that are regularly posted to this page.
