Biology
We believe in preparing you to become contributory members of a scientific and technological society. The Edexcel GCE Biology specification is designed to engage and inspire you by showing how an understanding of many contemporary issues requires a grasp of biological ideas.
You will learn to appreciate how society makes decisions about Biology-related issues and how Biology contributes to the success of the economy and society. The rich learning experience will help you to develop habits for learning and life.
Course structure
Highbury Fields School follows the Edexcel advanced GCE Biology A (Salters-Nuffield) 2015 specification. Edexcel’s GCE in Biology comprises eight topics in total. Each topic is taught based on a context approach. This approach begins with the consideration of an application that draws on many different areas of biology. The theories and principles of Biology that apply to this application are then studied.
