Year 11 Parents Evening

Dear Parents and carers,

Re: Year 11 Parents’ evening- Thursday 4th December 2025, 4.30pm -7.00pm

I am writing to you to congratulate your daughter on completing her mock examinations and to say that the school is very proud of her hard work and commitment. I hope that your daughter is enjoying the well-earned feeling of achievement and that she is looking forward to celebrating her hard work with her friends at Go Ape.

On Wednesday 3rd December your daughter will have her mock results afternoon where she will receive her mock exam results and have an opportunity to self-reflect, focusing on what went well and what she still needs to work on to improve in each subject. Please can I reiterate to you and your daughter that at this stage we are not focusing on the grades themselves but on the areas of improvement identified by her subject teachers. These areas of improvement will be key in supporting your daughter to focus her revision and practice over the coming months which in turn will help her make the progress we know she is capable of. Please reinforce the importance of attendance to school every day as the first way of helping her achieve her best.

On Thursday 4th December, we have the Year 11 parent evening from 4.30pm to 7.00pm.

During the evening:

This year you will be able to make appointments to meet with your daughter’s teachers, via the Arbor App or Parent Portal. Please follow the guidance on this document to book your meetings with your daughter's teachers.

Please note that some teachers have multiple Year 11 classes so it will not be possible for some teachers to see every student. Any students who are unable to be seen will be provided with a teacher comment about their strengths and areas for improvement.

If you experience any difficulties or have any questions please email the school on the following email address: parents@highburyfields.islington.sch.uk

Finally, I would like to remind parents that the study room continues to remain open to students at afterschool to support your daughter in maintaining the good study habits she built up over the mock examination period.

Thank you for your continuing support of your daughter’s education and if you have any questions please do contact the school.

Yours faithfully

Ms K Vishnuram
Senior Deputy Headteacher
