Year 11 students can apply to IC6 from October 2016 through a two part application process.

The first part is the written application. Written applications can be made either online at the IC6 website,, or via paper copies found in the IC6 Prospectus. As part of this application, students will need to complete a personal statement explaining their strengths as a student, why they have chosen their particular subjects and what they hope to gain out of a place at IC6. Students also need a reference from a teacher, which is usually written by their tutor or Head of Year.

The second part of the application process is an interview. After a successful written application has been submitted, year 11 students will be invited to interview. The interview is an important part of the application process and is an opportunity for students and parents to discuss their post-16 choices with experienced members of the sixth form team.

Following their interview, students are contacted to let them know if their application has been successful.
